The Commissioner of Police (CP) in Enugu State, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, has tasked newly graduated cadets and inspectors on professionalism and dedication to service to fatherland.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 37 new Assistant Superintendents and Inspectors of police had been posted to the police command in the state on one year compulsory attachment in line with force orders and instructions.
Danmallam gave the charge on Thursday while addressing the new officers and inspectors in his office shortly after their arrival.
He charged them to take their duties “very seriously’’.
The commissioner assured them of the command’s assistance for them to be adequately guided in the course of their duties.
He said “you must be patient and avoid any issue that would drag the image of the force to disrepute.”
He stressed the need for them to adhere strictly to the force directives under Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, concerning corruption and unprofessional conducts.
He added that “once again, you should avoid arrogance and police with human face in line with the tenets of democratic policing.”
The Assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge of Administration, Mr Oliver Amechi and the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, accompanied the commissioner during the address. (NAN)
