President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday met with his security chiefs in Abuja. He is believed to have kept his security topguns abreast of the deliberations he had with leaders of West African neighbours who met at the weekend in Paris , France.
The West African leaders agreed to wage a total war against Boko Haram.President Jonathan also said at a news conference in Paris that Boko Haram has become an AlQaeda operation.
Today’s meeting may have reviewed the Paris meeting along with the support from other global allies in the efforts towards bringing back the Chibok girls as well as a comprehensive strategy against the sect.
Observers expect that the weekend’s protest in Maiduguri over extra judicial killing and the resurgence of bomb blast in Kano Sunday night would have also been touched on during the president’s meeting with his topguns.
The police averted another bomb blast Monday morning,a clear sign that even in Kano, all may not be well yet.
