Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, on Wednesday, paid a condolence visit to Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State over the death of his elder brother, Sunday Makinde.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sunday died on early hours of Friday during a brief illness at the age of 65.
NAN also reports that the chairman of the forum, Gov. Bala Mohammed led his colleagues on the condolence visit to Makinde in his private residence at Agodi GRA, Ibadan.
Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, expressed the forum’s heartfelt sympathy to Makinde, describing his late brother as a man who lived a fulfilled life.
He commended his Oyo State counterpart for his resilience, stating that he never abandoned his job despite the loss of his elder brother.
Mohammed assured Makinde of the forum’s solidarity during this difficult period.
In his response, Makinde acknowledged the emotional and moral encouragement provided by his colleagues, thanking them for their prayers and support.
He said that the visit had reaffirmed the unity and brotherhood among PDP governors.
NAN reports that Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers and his Osun counterpart, Ademola Adeleke, were among the PDP governors in attendance. (NAN)
