Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has observed that by embarking upon realistic life changing policies and programmes, Gov. Rabi’u Kwankwaso of Kano state has demonstrated potential for a higher position for in the near future.

Obasanjo words:”I believe God has not finished with you yet and my prayers and hope are as you move along in life, when you will climb down from here, whatever your hand finds to do, you will do it with the best of your ability. Because the future is still beckoning and may you be ready, absolutely ready when that future is ready for you,” he concluded.

Chief Obasanjo who  disclosed this on Wednesday when he commissioned a flyover which is named after him in Kano city, also said that the benefits derivable from the projects being executed would stand the test time.

He described as an excellent foresight, the offer of overseas scholarship by Kano government to thousands of students, pointing out that in the next 10 to 15 years, the state indigenes would become strategic players in national development.

He, therefore, charged the state to continue with its policies and programs, noting that the second tenure of Governor Kwankwaso is quite an improvement on the first one in terms of human and physical development.

The former president maintained that the experience acquired by Kwankwaso as Minister of Defense has helped him in transforming Kano state positively, adding that the governor has demonstrated potential for a higher position in the near future.

The former president expressed appreciation to Kwankwaso for naming the flyover after him, pointing out that the bridge design is not only very attractive but importantly, would ease flow of motorists in the city.

Responding, Governor Kwankwaso thanked Chief Obasanjo for accepting to commission the flyover which was constructed at the cost of N5. 9 billion and which was the first to be completed but second to be commissioned in the state capital.

Governor Kwankwaso also  took  the former president to the permanent site of Northwest University where the latter expressed satisfaction with the courses and structures therein.
