Vice President Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo has said that the PDP led Federal Government under the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will never discriminate in the funding and siting of people oriented programmes and projects in the country.

The Vice President stated this on Wednesday in Kano when he met with members of the media and publicity committee of the PDP in Kano State, describing them as the mouthpiece of the party and government at the grassroots.

Arc Sambo stressed that the administration had never and would never discriminate either on party, ethic or religious lines, nor will it politicize the funding and siting of programmes and projects meant to impact positively on the lives of Nigerians.

Vice President Sambo gave the example of the projects being executed by TETFUND and UBEC under the education sector, disclosing that both federal and state owned institutions in Kano State enjoyed from the N34 billion expended by TETFUND alone on infrastructure and human resource capacity building in higher institutions in the State.

Arc Sambo emphasized that President Jonathan was humility personified, a lover of the people, and a highly detribalized Nigerian, who would not be engaged in any act inimical to the development of the country he loves so much, stressing that they have delivered on their campaign promises.

Vice President Sambo presented to the gathering factual data of the developmental strides of the administration in Kano, which he narrated to cut across the areas of education including the Almajiri schools, water supply, power supply, agriculture, job and wealth creation, under the N220BN SMEs funds and SURE-P. Also mentioned were transportation including road construction and railways, and the revamping of industries, among other several developmental projects and human capacity programmes.

On security, he said with the provision by government of modern state of the art armament and training to the armed forces, the police and other security agencies had been better positioned to confront security challenges squarely. He said this had led the military to make considerable inroads in tackling insurgency in the North-east.

He therefore charged them to go out and meet the people  and inform them of the giant strides of the President Jonathan administration to disabuse their minds of the calculated efforts to discredit the administration for lack of progress and positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.

Vice President  Sambo said he is confident that with the massive following and loyalty of members of the PDP and the entire people of Kano State, the party will be victorious in all elective positions in the forthcoming general election.

The Minister of  Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Bashir Wali, and the PDP Kano State governorship candidate, Alhaji Salihu Sagir Takai in their separate remarks expressed gratitude to President Jonathan for his unprecedented support to The State, while also appreciating Vice President Sambo for being a worthy son of the State and his loyalty to President Jonathan.

On their part the committee members were particularly delighted with the visit of the Vice President and pledged to work assiduously for the victory of the party and its candidates at all levels during the March 28 and April 11 elections.

They also pledged to continue to mobilize and sensitize the electorate on the achievements of the President Jonathan led administration, just as they assured the Vice President that they would educate the electorate on the voting process and preach peaceful conduct and violence free elections.
