Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso on Sunday visited three Kano Pillars FC players, who are currently on admission at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, as a result of an attack by gunmen in Kogi state on their way to Owerri, Imo state for a match with Heartland FC.
Kwankwaso, who sympathized with the victims Adamu Murtala, Gambo Muhammad and Otakpa Oneji that were shot but had the bullets excised at the hospital, described the attack as barbaric considering the fact that the team is was engaged in a trip for common good.
He promised that the state government would shoulder the hospital bills of the victims and prayed for their quick recovery.
The governor was conducted round the hospital ward by the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf in company of officials of Kano Pillars Chairman FC and senior staff of the hospital.
Meanwhile, Governor Kwankwaso has inspected on-going development of Court Road Sports Complex where he directed the Managing Director of REMASAB, to make sure that metropolitan refuse is dumped at the site to fill all holes and make the field amenable to games.
The governor also inspected the construction of ring type culverts at Kwankwasiyya City where he expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of the work done. He was also at Amana City to inspect on-going civil works at the site even as he stopped over to inspect drainage construction along Zaria road.
