UNN to host International sustainable clean energy conference

Prof Edmund Okoroigwe, the Leader of Sustainable Clean Emerging Energy Technologies Group (SCEET-G), University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), says the university will host the 2024 international conference of SCEET.

Okoroigwe who is also the Coordinator of the conference, disclosed this in Nsukka on Thursday while briefing newsmen on the preparations for the conference that would hold in UNN between July 21 to 26.

With the theme.”Clean Energy Systems for Sustainable Power and Environment”.

He said the conference would be attended by over 100 participants physically and virtually from different parts of the world and would provide collaborative opportunities to network and share knowledge on clean energy technologies development and utilisation.

“The conference will enable participants to advance frontiers of clean energy technologies development and utilisation.

“Clean energy system is energy that emit zero carbon and without any environmental pollution.

“The conference is organised by SCEET-G of UNN in collaboration with National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI),” he said.

Okoroigwe, who is from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of UNN and an Anglican Cleric named Mr. Khalil Sulaman Halilu, the Executive Vice Chairman, NASENI as the Chairman of the conference..

He listed Prof. Mohammed Ndaliman, Managing Director, Science Equipment Development Institute, Minna, (SEDI-M), Niger State, Prof. Ahmed Zobaa, Brunel University London, United Kingdom.

Prof. Roula Inglesl-Lotz, Department of Economics, University of Pretoria, South Africa and Mrs Damilola Aseleye, Vice President, Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria, among keynote speakers.

He commended Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, Dean, Faculty of Engineering UNN , for his support to SCEET-G and expressed optimism that the outcome of the conference would contribute immensely in solving clean energy challenges globally
