Sokoto varsity to get 3 faculties – Tambuwal

Governor Aminu Tambuwal has announced that the Sokoto State government was working in concert with the Council and management of Sokoto State University to establish faculties of medicine, Engineering and ICT in the institution
He made the announcement at the weekend during the inauguration of the new executives of the Federated Organisation of Sokoto State Students Association (FOSOSSA).
Tambuwal, who assured that the University would be run in line with the demands of the people, also pointed out that the construction of the three new faculties would be executed through direct labour, with professionals in the state engaged to design the faculties.
He congratulated the youths for the “Not-Too-Young-To-Run” law and assured them of his Administration’s continued partnership for the progress of the state.
Tambuwal further said Government was doing its best to address the challenges of state owned tertiary institutions, adding that a Senior Special Adviser on Students Matters would soon be appointed.
He implored the new FOSOSSA leadership to operate with listening ears and the students to always be law abiding and good ambassadors of the state.
