Sambo 600Vice President Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo said he is confident that with the massive following and loyalty of members of the PDP and the entire people of Kano State, the party will be victorious in all elective positions in the forthcoming general election.

Vice President Sambo, expressed this confidence, in Kano when he met with PDP officials, party stalwarts and other stakeholders and supporters of the Jonathan/Sambo and Takai/Riskuwa 2015 Campaign organizations.

The Vice President who was visibly impressed with the warm reception and the solid  support base of the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan led administration in the State, enjoined the stakeholders to massively mobilize the people to come out en-masse to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and vote for PDP candidates from the presidential, governorship, National Assembly to the House of Assembly durning the elections.

Arc Sambo also charged them to educate the people on how to vote properly during the elections, while stressing the need for them to preach to the people to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the elections, even as he emphasized that the administration was determined and committed to delivering free, fair and violence free elections.

Vice President Sambo, explained that President Jonathan was neither against the progress of the North nor was he religiously biased, reeling out the various people oriented programmes and projects, carried out by the administration, particularly in Kano State.

Those he enumerated covered education: including the establishment of Almajiri schools and projects by TETFUND in both federal and state owned higher institutions, as well as those by carried out by UBEC and direct budgetary allocations by the Federal Ministry of Education.

Others he narrated were in the areas of water supply, power supply, agriculture, job and wealth creation, under the N220BN SMEs funds and SURE-P. Also mentioned were transportation including road construction and railways, and the revamping of industries, among other several developmental projects and human capacity programmes.

On security, he said with the provision by government of modern state of the art armament and training to the armed forces, the police and other security agencies they had been better positioned to confront security challenges squarely. He said this had led the military to make considerable inroads in tackling insurgency in the North-east.

He therefore charged the stakeholders to go out and meet the people  and inform them of the giant strides of the President Jonathan administration to disabuse their minds of the calculated efforts to discredit the administration for lack of progress and positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.

In their separate remarks, the Minister of Education Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau and his counterpart in the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ambassador Aminu Wali, expressed gratitude to President Jonathan for his unprecedented support to Kano State and  for appointing two Kano indigenes to man key ministries, while also appreciating Vice President Sambo for being a worthy son of the State and his loyalty to President Jonathan.

On their part the stakeholders comprising party officials, campaign coordinators, candidates of elective posts, students, non indigene communities as well as other support groups, were particularly delighted with the visit of the Vice President and all pledged to work assiduously for the victory of the party and its candidates at all levels during the March 28 and April 11 elections.

They also pledged to continue to mobilize and sensitize the electorate on the achievements of the President Jonathan led administration, just as they assured the Vice President that they would educate the electorate on the voting process and preach peaceful conduct and violence free elections.
