Proprietor advocates consistency in teachers` salaries

The Proprietor of Great Foundation Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin, Kwara,  Mr Gbenga Oludare, has urged government at all levels to ensure consistency in payment of teachers` salaries to improve standard of education in Nigeria.

Oludare, who  made the call on Wednesday in Ilorin while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said teachers` salaries  must be consistent to rescuing the declining education standards in the country.

He said teachers needed to be motivated for them to be diligent in their service delivery.

“Teachers are humans and not robots where you just programme them to work. They need motivation to boost their morale.

“How do you expect someone who has not been paid for a while to show commitment toward the job. The output will be total zero,“ he said.

Oludare said leaders must understand that teachers were not slaves, adding that their salary must be consistent, to improve the on the education system.

The proprietor called on government at all levels to prioritise teachers welfare for the country to have quality education.

“Teachers are nation builders. They are as important as any other civil servant in the country, because they impact and train the future leaders.”(NAN)
