Police arrest woman for allegedly killing neighbour in Delta

#TrackNigeria: Delta state Police command has arrested a middle aged woman, identified as Vivian Salamu in Ughelli community for allegedly killing a neighbour over teenage pregnancy.

The Police Commissioner, Adeleke Adeyinka, who confirmed the arrest of the woman to journalists in Asaba on Monday, said the suspect allegedly stabbed her neighbour, Loveth Okagbare to death over pregnancy of her teenage daughter.

He said that the victim was confirmed dead by doctors at the Ughelli Central Hospital on Saturday.

“We were told that Loveth the victim noticed changes in her daughter’s body upon which it was discovered she was pregnant for the suspect’s son, a situation that informed the victim’s anger who then took her daughter to the suspect to confront her at her store in the community where trouble started”, he disclosed.

It was gathered that fight ensued as a result of the confrontation, and the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim and her daughter, which led to serious bleeding.

While the mother died from excessive loss of blood, her daughter sustained injuries.

The police boss said that the suspect arrested by men of the Ughelli Police ‘A” Division before she was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) where she is being detained for further investigation.
