The Police on Friday arraigned one Aliu Mohamodu in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly damaging 15 hectares of cassava, maize and beans farms worth N2. 1million.
Mohamodu who pleaded not guilty is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and malicious damage.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Philips Amusan told the court that the defendant and others at large on Jan. 18 and Jan. 24, at Olowa, Ibadan conspired to commit the offences.
Amusan said Mohamodu and others at large on the same date, time and place allegedly damaged the farms belonging to one Abiodun Bello.
He said the defendant allegedly allowed his cattle to graze in the farms thereby committing an offence.
Amusan said this is contrary and punishable under Section 516(A) and Section 451 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned until March 7, for hearing. (NAN)
