Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state has said that there was no rift in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking at the party’s stakeholders meeting Saturday, the governor stressed that members of the party in the state were a united family
Tambuwal said since his defection to the party, his relationship with leaders and entire members had been cordial and advised members of the party to disregard any rumour of purported rift within the party “as it is false and baseless.”
Thanking the people of the state for their continuous support to his administration, the governor pointed out that there was mutual respect between him and former governor Attahiru Bafarawa.
“The unity among PDP members is as a result of the patriotic disposition of both leaders and members of the party whose common goal is that of moving the state to the next level. There is no new or old member of PDP as there is only one solidly united party in the state. I urged you to mobilize new members,” Tambuwal said.
He explained that the delay in appointing local government sole administrators, commissioners and other government appointees was the desire of the government to ensure fairness and Justice among members and assured that such appointments would be made soon.
Speaking, Bafarawa said that Governor Tambuwal is the leader of the party in the state urged members of the party to support him.
He also charged party members to ignore rumour mongers who spread false news of rift among party leader’s in the state.
Bafarawa assured the Governor of their unflinchingly support and urged him to make his doors open for advise from the elders whenever the need arose.
He also implored members of the party not to brother themselves about their Presidential aspirations between himself and Governor Tambuwal as there would never be any problem between them pertaining that.
