amuel said that the decisive implementation of government’s programmes and policies would tackle the economic problems in the region and in Nigeria.

“We want President Muhammadu Buhari to address our basic needs like the dualisation of some major roads and the rehabilitation of dilapidated infrastructure in the area.

“He should also call all contractors that have ongoing projects in the region to return to the projects sites.

“We also want the stranded students schooling abroad to be considered and amnesty scholarship programmes properly addressed,” he said.

Samuel, however, commended President Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade in the country, urging him to call all contractors handling projects in the region to return to sites.

The youths leader advised the government to listen to experts’ advice before taking foreign loans, to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and integrity.

Reacting, Enang assured the youths that their demands would be communicated to the President and the issues would be duly addressed.

Enang said that the government would continue to support infrastructural and economic development of the region for the overall development of the country.

According to him, due process and procedures are being followed before taking foreign loans, adding  that the loans are in the country’s interest.

He quoted the Debt Management Office Act as saying that, “a guarantee agreement for external loans shall be executed on behalf of the government by the minister in writing.” (NAN)
