A meeting of All Progressives Congress,APC top officials with Senators elect and members House of Representatives elect is going on in Abuja.
The meeting which was scheduled to hold earlier in the week was postponed till (today) Saturday .
As the members gathered today an official of the party said “We are here today as united entity not to enter the house divided because we want to have an election between (Yakubu) Dogara and Femi (Gbajabiamila)” as speaker of House of Representatives .
“And who ever emerges should be supported by the loser because the party is supreme to anybody and most of them won because of the party”
“It is expected because of the sensitivity of the position and many of them supported a particular candidate for their selfish interest not because they want to work. The meeting is about an election so that when the house reconvene on Tuesday the APC will have a particular candidates and to have synergy among the party and the members not a divided house and party”.
The battle for Senate president is believed to be between Senators Lawan Ahmed and Bukola Saraki.
PDP members elect were also believed to be positioning themselves to see how they could take advantage of the division among APC members.Newsdiaryonline learnt that PDP lawmakers were lodged in a high-brow hotel in Abuja Friday night as the strategy sessions continued.Some APC lawmakers were also sighted within the hotel premises Friday night.
