Kogi State Deputy Governor’s Wife, Tokunbo Awoniyi,has begged the Women of Ijumu LGA to turn out enmasse and vote the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forth coming Kogi Council election.
The Wife of the Deputy Governor described women as important in the process that will usher in the next council chairmen in the state to enable them demand 35% slots of appointments. Mrs Awoniyi made the assertion in Gbede District of Ijumu LGA of the State at the campaign rally for the forth coming council election slated for Saturday. She disclosed that with the population of women that is more than the men,urged them to use their numerical strength and participation to decide the winner of the May 4th 2013 election in favour of the PDP in the State.
Women, the Deputy Governor’s wife noted are more reliable in election process,urged them to be the determinant towards ensuring that the area remains in the mainstream politics of the country.
In his remarks at the occasion,the State Deputy Governor described Gbede District and Ijumu LGA as a whole as very important to the PDP in view of the notable personality and contributions of such individuals to the party at the National and State level. He described the area as presently blessed with quality candidates who will not steal from the public purse in view of their personality,character and the pedigree they possessed,urged them to make a clean sweep of the forth coming election as the party does not have a serious opposition when the credentials of the PDP are placed side by side that of the opposition Party.
In his speech ,Barrister Ologe Samuel,Leader of the Party in the area and others who spoke on behalf of the party promised to deliver a hundred percent to the PDP.
Also speaking Remi Odutola,PDP Candidate for Ijumu Local Government promised to
deliver quality leadership if elected.
Provision of job,Women empowerment and an Agriculture revolution that will put food and provide additional income to the people will be vigorously pursued if elected. He described the PDP as the party that has what it takes to move the council to another heights,appealed to the people to keep faith by voting massively for the Party in the forth coming election.
