The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Kaduna State Sector Command, says it has recovered a vehicle suspected to have been stolen from Kano state.

The Sector Commander, Mr Kabir Nadabo, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Kaduna.

Nadabo said, ‘The acting Unit  Commander of RS1.111 Tashar Yari conducted a rescue operation at Marke village along Kano-Zaria Expressway on Wednesday.

“A Toyota Camry vehicle with registration number ABC 153 CN was involved in a lone crash.

“The rescue team, while in the process of the operation recovered items such as ID Cards, an ATM card as well as an IPhone bearing the name of Dr Sabi’u Aminu, with several envelopes of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano. which appeared suspicious, “he said

Nadabo explained that through deliberate efforts of the unit commander, who was intimated about the development, he contacted Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where Dr Aminu  purportedly works.

He said, ”He was informed that the Doctor was reportedly robbed in the early hours of the morning of Wednesday.”

Nadabo further disclosed that the victims were rescued to Ahmadu Bello University  Teaching Hospital where one of the suspects  was confirmed dead.

He added that the two others were unconscious while the fourth person was ‘conscious and escaped.’

“The other two suspects  were treated and after regaining consciousness, one of them narrated that they had indeed stolen the vehicle with the intention of conveying it to Kaduna when the tragedy struck,” the sector commander said.

Nadabo said the Divisional Police Officer(DPO), Makarfi Local Government Area had been informed about the case.

He said, “The DPO  has directed for the victims to be transferred to Makarfi upon confirmation that they are fit to be moved.

”Dr Aminu  has communicated to the DPO of Makarfi and is expected to be at the Division on Thursday.

‘The affected vehicle has been moved to the police station to conclude the investigation.

 “The bravery and exemplary conduct of FRSC personnel must be commended for noticing the tiniest detail and using their professionalism to crack what would have eluded the authorities.”

Nadabo said FRSC would  continue to partner with other sister security agencies to foster unity and share credible information with the ultimate goal of safeguarding lives and properties of motorists and Nigerians in general.(NAN)
