The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has honoured Nigerian former professional footballer, Chief Patrick Olusegun Odegbami, with the award of the NOA Man of the Week.
In a recommendation letter made available to newsmen on Monday, the Director-General, NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu noted that the award is inline with the Agency’s new commitment to celebrate those positive values that reflect the real Nigerian spirit.
Issa-Onilu said the former footballer deserves the recognition considering his continuous demonstration of patriotism and love for the country Nigeria, adding he is an embodiment of the true Nigerian Spirit in all ramifications.
He said,”I write this letter on behalf of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), to extend our commendation to you on your continuous demonstration of patriotism and love for our country Nigeria, both here at home and abroad. You are an embodiment of the true Nigerian Spirit in all ramifications.
“Most recently you demonstrated the true Nigerian spirit, when you took off time in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) football competition to meet with some young Nigerian students studying in Cote D’Ivoire to encourage them and share with them your passion and love for our dear country Nigeria.
“The National Orientation Agency (NOA) applaud your commitment, patriotism, love for country and demonstration of nationalism. You are a good example of the values of the “Real Nigeria” spirit the National Orientation Agency is working tirelessly to promote among Nigerians.
“We hope other Nigerians will emulate these values, so that together we can build our country Nigeria to what it ought to be. The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is proud of your high sense of patriotism, which reinforces the Renewed Hope message.
“In line with our new commitment to celebrate those positive values that reflect the real Nigerian spirit, the NOA is proud to let you know that you, Chief Patrick Olusegun Odegbami, is NOA Man of the Week.”
The DG NOA added,”In addition to this letter of commendation, the Director General of NOA will also give you a plaque which places you on the Roll of NOA icons for 2024.
