Two membesr of the National Assembly from the Federal Capital have shunned calls by civil society organizations to meet with them to discuss issues bordering on the review of the 1999 constitution.
Newsdiaryonline.com learnt that some CSOS had written separate but similar letters to Honourables Isa Dobi and Jisalo Zephaniah. The letters recalled admonition by Deputy Speaker House of Reps,Emeka Ihedioha urging members to hold grassroots meetings with their constituencies on the constitution review.
It was on these grounds that CSOs working on constitution in the review in FCT sought to be furnished with details of when such people session would be held .Surprisingly, mum has been the word from the lawmakers.
Despite all efforts “these two legislators representing AMAC/Bwari and Abaji/Gwagwalada/Kuje/Kwali federal constituencies who were written by a coalition of Civil Society Organizations working on Constitution Review in the FCT have failed to respond. We are yet to receive a reply”, Newsdiaryonline.com was told.
This lack of response is believed to be slowing down the rising momentum in the FCT where indigenous people have of late been agitating for reviews to democratize the territory.
