The Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Ahmad Elrufa’i has appealed to electricity users in the State to always ensure prompt settlement of their electricity bills to sustain the incremental progress recorded in the power sector in the last three and half years.

The Governor made the charge yesterday in Pambeguwa, Kubau Local Government of the State while commissioning the Pambeguwa township network rehabilitated by Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company.

Elrufa’i assured the residents of the determination of his administration to partner with both local and multi national corporate organisations to bring development to Kaduna State.

He described the collaborative effort between the Kaduna State Government and Kaduna Electric that culminated in the restoration of power supply to Pambeguwa in Kubau Local Government and Buruku in Chikun Local Government “as a demonstration of the State Government’s determination to improve the socio-economic well-being of the citizenry”.

Earlier, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, Engineer Garba Haruna pledged the commitment of the Company to contribute to  economic development of the State through provision of reliable and qualitative power supply and urged all concern to reciprocate the gesture by paying their bills as at when due.

“We are a responsible corporate citizen of Kaduna State and our business is to supply electricity to our customers in a safe and reliable manner; this we shall always do,” he affirmed.

Engr. Garba commended the State Government for  for providing the necessary support to the Company while the rehabilitation work lasted.

He disclosed that the up-time and reliability in Kaduna State is one of the best in the whole country with some areas having as much as 24 hours supply daily.

The modest commercial community was forced to swallow the bitter pill of darkness over the years when some transformers and the township overhead network was vandalised by men of underworld.
