The payment by Dangote Group to land owners in Lau community in Lau local government is under investigation in Taraba State.
Acting Governor Sani Abubakar Danladi raised a 6-man committee on Tuesday “to investigate the payment of compensation to Landowners of Dangote Lau Sugar Company owing to written petitions by land owners in Lau,Lau Local Government Area of the State.
The Committee has Barrister Uba Maigari Ahmadu as chairman while Yakubu Bulus will as secretary.
Members of the Committee include Hon Danladi Baido,Planner Ivo,Headman Nanjo,Surveyor Ishaya Abadu , S.A Prince Bulus Audu and Abubakar Bala
The committee’s terms of reference include to”determine and consider all complaints written to Government over the discrepancy in the payment of compensation for their land.
It will also among others “determine if funds released for compensation to land owners on their land acquired by Dangote Group of Companies were actually and correctly paid to the real land owners”
