Mass transit operators in Ebonyi have assured their passengers of a safer and better service, particularly during the Christmas and new year celebrations.
Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abakaliki, Manager, Peace Mass Transits, Mr Chukwunoso Onah, assured of the transport firm’s preparedness for the festive period.
Onah said that the mass transit operator was better prepared, regarding maintance of its vehicles and training of drivers after every three months by the Federal Road Safety Academy.
He noted that only slight increment had been made on transport fare.
“For instance, previously Ebonyi to Enugu is N500 and presently N600.
“Only N100 difference was added to transport fare. Nothing really changed
“We made sure our vehicles have spare tyres, complete particulars of vehicle, among other needs to ease difficulties,”Onah said.
Similarly, Mr James Ovbiebo, Manager Faith Travel Mass Transit, assured commuters of safe and efficient service.
“No increments in transport fare , drivers are trained to keep the rules and regulations of driving, our vehicles are in good condition,” Ovbiebo said.
Mrs Ngozi Onuara and Mrs Amaka Ugwu, both passengers at Romchi Mass Transit, confirmed the increase, urging the companies to keep the promise.
“We wish they will stabilise the fare as usual to enable people to travel,” Ugwu said.
