Felix Anyansi-Agwu, Chairman of Enyimba International Football Club of Aba, on Saturday said the club would depart earlier than scheduled for their clash against Congolese side CARA Brazzaville.
Enyimba had earlier been scheduled to depart on Sunday for Wednesday’s Group C clash with CARA Brazzaville of the Republic of Congo.
Anyansi-Agwu however said the early departure was due to the game’s scheduled time of 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Our travel arrangements have been adjusted a little bit and, instead of leaving on Sunday, the team will now leave for Congo on Saturday night.
“Going and spending some extra days will actually be more expensive for us, but we have no choice. This is to allow for adequate rest and preparation before the day of the game. We are leaving no stone unturned,” he said.
The club chairman also said that the objective of the club was to record an away victory, urging the players to once again give a good account of themselves on the continent.
CARA Brazzaville will, on their part, be seeking their first points of the group stage, having lost their opening game to Ivorian side AC Williamsville on Matchday 1.(NAN)
