At least 40 people are believed to have been killed after Boko Haram fighters stormed Doron Baga, a fishing community in Borno State, North East Nigeria,Reuters has reported .
Though a police source told the news agency more than 25 were killed ,a resident of Maiduguri put the death toll at more than 40.
Reuters quoted Mallam Ali Jatu as having said ,”Boko Haram members laid ambush for traders who came to buy fish in Doron Baga … they killed more than 40 of them and carted away the fishes some them had bought.”
Reports of the killings which occurred on Saturday have emerged at snail’s speed because of poor communication, the news agency said.
