Debutante novelist Nwanneka Obioma Nwala will be in the spotlight during the November 29 edition of the Guest Writer Session, a long-running literary initiative by the Abuja Writers Forum.
The event which holds at Nanet Suites in Abuja’s Central District, runs from 4 – 7 pm, and features side attractions of poetry performance, a raffle-draw for books, and an exciting dose of live music.
Nwala, will be reading from her debut novel, Wives on the Cross. which explores the challenges faced by Clara Ezeoha, as he tries to balance here career and motherhood, specially when her children become a dividing line in the a marriage threatening feud.
Nwala is a lawyer by profession with a background literature and management. She was President of University Women’s Association (UWA), co-ordinator of Better Life for Rural Women (UNN Chapter), as well as the founder of the vibrant women’s group, “Nwanyi Bu Ife”. She currently runs the Centre for Youths Orientation and Enlightenment (CYOEN), which engages in value orientation and re-orientation of youths.
Also sharing the spotlight with Nwala will be singer-songwriter, David Adzer and budding poetess , Amina Aboje.
The Abuja Writers’ Forum is a community of writers and book lovers. The forum creates opportunities for writers to develop their skills, helps in promoting and celebrating established and upcoming writers and also developing the book culture among Nigerians. Activities of the forum are free and open to members of the public.
