What could have been another bomb blast was on Monday averted at the Abdulsalami Garage in Minna, the Niger state capital.Reports said a device suspected to be a an explosive was found there by the eagle -eyed local residents and security men were called in.An official of the state government said securitymen moved swiftly defuse the explosive thus averting an explosion that could have a probably led to loss of lives.
Former Head of State ,General Abdulsalami Abubakar recently urged citizens in the country to volunteer information to the authorities about criminals in their midst in order to checkmate the challenge of insecurity facing the country.
Some states in the north including Niger have been rocked by bomb blasts in recent times.However, most of the attacks have of late been largely in the north eastern states of Borno and Yobe which have been in the grip of Boko Haram insurgency.
