At least 50 people were feared killed in another bomb blast which hit a livestock market in Maiduguri,Borno State capital in north eastern part of Nigeria,Reuters has reported.
A military source told Reuters that the bomb “was concealed under a butcher’s table in the market”
Tuesday’s explosion marks a continuation of attacks suspected to be by Boko Haram since the inauguration of General Muhammadu Buhari last Friday.No group has owned up to any of the attacks.
During his inauguration, Buhari directed that the military command centre should be relocated from Abuja to Maidguri.
The series of renewed attacks after Buhari’s inauguration began with a a rocket propelled grenade attack on the city Friday night stretching into Saurday when the military repelled the attacks.Next was the suicide bomb blast at a Mosque.Then came the blast at Gamboru Market in Maiduguri.
It was followed by reports of raids on Fika and Ngala in Yobe state.The attacks continued Tuesday with the latest bomb blast at the livestock market.
Reacting to the series of attacks by the terrorist group,National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress,APC Chief Odigie Oyegun said on Tuesday that Boko Haram was in for surprises for daring President Buhari after his inauguration.
