One of the Action Congress of Nigeria(ACN’s)leading gubernatorial aspirants in Ondo state, Michael Olusegun Abraham, has promised to increase the bursary of indigenes of the state in the Nigerian Law School.
Currently, indigenes of Ondo state in the Nigerian Law School are paid N50,000 by the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko. According to a statement issued by Akin Orimolade, Media Adviser to the gubernatorial hopeful, Abraham, while receiving a delegation of the students in his Ugbe  Akoko country home, said one of the things his administration would correct is the injustice meted out on Law students by the current administration.
“By the grace of God, when I am given the mandate to serve this great state as governor, I intend to correct that injustice. No indigene of Ondo State would feel inferior anywhere he is working or studying,” he said, adding that “if states in the North that are not oil producing could pay as much as N500,000 and other oil producing states are paying something reasonable, Ondo state under an  ACN administration  would pay what other oil producing states are paying”
He urged the law students to be good ambassadors, face their books’ come home with their bar  certificates and be ready to contribute their quota to the development of Ondo state.
“There are lots of work to be done and we should be ready to serve at various capacities as we intend to take Ondo state to the next level” he stressed.
Abraham said when voted into power he would order a comprehensive review of the recently increased fees introduced by the state judiciary, describing it as a coup against the common man.
“The incumbent state governor is a beneficiary of a good judicial system with a human face. He would not have smelt the governor’s office but for the judiciary. The newly introduced fees would shut the doors of the judicial system against indigent and not too rich litigants”, he said.
Earlier, leader of the Law students, Mr Felix Adebayo, lamented that Ondo state students are made to look inferior among their classmates who are not only encouraged but paid “reasonable bursary” by their states.
“Sir, it may interest you to know that Oyo state which is not an oil producing state, with a student’s population that doubles our state, pays N100,000 to each student,” he said
Mr Adebayo also appealed to the gubernatorial aspirant to assist students with a laptop each and some law books
