RMS brush with security not connected to Osun Poll,says Omisore

The campaign organization of the Peoples Democratic Party ,PDP candidate in Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has debunked claims that RMS brush with security was connected to Osun poll
A statement by Prince Diran Odeyemi, Omisore campaign’s director of media & strategy “We are constrained to alert members of the public and particularly the people of Osun state of an emerging smear campaign ochestrated by the APC and targeted at the governorship candidate of the People Democratic Party,Senator Iyiola Omisore. The APC has concluded series of false stories,paid propaganda and manipulated violence to divert attention from its rejection by the people of Osun state.
“Members of the public are aware of Governor Rauf Aregbesola’ violent agenda as manifested in his creation of “State Boys” now unleashing violence ,his directive to voters to go to voting centers with weapons and charms and the regular sustained attacks on PDP supporters statewide. We have refused to be drawn into this cycle of violence as our people are fully in our support.
The statement said “Part of APC smear campaign is the false story published in some dailies and online platforms to the effect that top officials of the RMS,a public affairs company based in Lagos,were arrested to prevent the firm from releasing the report of its opinion survey on Osun governorship election.The report is utterly false and a calculated attempt to smear Senator Iyiola Omisore.
“While we are not holding brief for security agencies,reports at our disposal revealed that security search on the RMS premises was prompted by actions and activities considered a security breach by the intelligence community.It was gathered that officials of the firm were arrested in Enugu after they were caught taking pictures of barracks and other Security facilities.
“The firm working on Guiness census is believed to have acted in manners that constitute security risk especially in this time of national counter- insurgency . Security agencies had followed up the arrest in Enugu with a physical raid of the Lagos headquarters of RMS to investigate further the motive of the firm for taking pictures of military and Security installations. The arrest is thus purely a security measure without any connection to the governorship election in Osun state.
“We state without any equivocation that neither the People’s Democratic Party nor her governorship candidate is threatened by the failed propaganda and information warfare of the rejected Governor of Osun state. In this age of enlightenment,no amount of fake opinion survey can save a government already rejected by the people. As Ekiti People were not swayed by such antics,so will the good people of Osun state not be decieved by such falsehood.
Odeyemi said “The PDP candidate has traversed the nooks and crannies of Osun state with overwhelming acceptance by the people. He has used the two months of campaign to validate his eight -point agenda targeted at making every vote count on August 9.We therefore have no time to waste on an incumbent clearly out of touch with the electorates.
He urged Nigerians to “discountenance all false reports and rededicate themselves to the task of voting out of power this anti- people APC government.”
