Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, says the Gov. Abdullahi Sule-led administration is desirous of building the youths for the future.

The deputy governor stated this when he received Tommorow’s Youth Ambassadors, organizers of Miss Nasarawa and Exclusive Leadership Awards, on a courtesy call at the conference hall of his office in Lafia on Wednesday.

According to Akabe, the present administration under the leadership of Gov. Abdullahi Sule will continue to involve youths in all its activities, irrespective of ethnic or religious leanings.

He said as such, youths in the state have a responsibility to support the government to succeed in its undertakings, particularly as efforts are being made to attract investment to the state.

He, however, called on the organizers of the Miss Nasarawa beauty pageant to leverage on the opportunity that the contest provides in showcasing the potentials the state for ecotourism.

While commending the Tomorrow’s Youth Ambassadors for the initiative and sustaining the Programme, the deputy governor assured of government support and cautioned the contestants against engagement in illicit activities capable of damaging their reputation.

Earlier, leader of the delegation, Comrade Bashayi Prescious, informed the deputy governor that they were at his office to intimate him of their activities, aimed at marketing the talents and potentials of Nasarawa State and putting it on the global map of international pageantry.

According to him, the Miss Nasarawa beauty contest started in 2013 with the view to promoting unity and humanity as well as the culture of people of the state.

He added that the contestants have undergone screening and are set for the beauty contest, appealing for government’s support to ensure its success. (NAN)
