E. Ekesons Bros. Nigeria Limited has urged the FCT High Court to charge the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Adamu Candido, (AMAC); Vice chairman, Lawrence Val Onuchukwu and Secretary, Halidu Adamu to prisons for disobeying Court Order.
This is contained in statement issued by the Assistant Head at Festus Keyamo Chambers, John Ainetor, Esq. made available to NewsdiaryonlineFriday.
“On 2nd October, 2015, the FCT High Court delivered Judgment in favor of E. EKESONS BROS. NIG. LTD, against the Abuja Municipal Area Council, (AMAC), wherein the Court held that the agreement between the parties, for E. EKESONS BROS. NIG. LTD to develop and manage the Jabi / Utako Motor Park, is still subsisting and binding. The Court also ordered AMAC to comply and/or abide by the terms of the said agreement.
“Since the Judgment was delivered, the Principal Officers of AMAC, specifically HON. ADAMU CANDIDO, Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, (AMAC); HON. LAWRENCE VAL ONUCHUKWU, Vice Chairman, AMAC; and HON. HALIDU ADAMU, Secretary, AMAC have continuously disobeyed the said Judgment, by allocating certain portions of the said Jabi/Utako Motor Park to some persons who have proceeded to erect structures on same, contrary to the terms of the agreement, as affirmed by the Court.
“Consequently, E. EKESONS BROS. NIG. LTD has filed contempt proceedings against the Principal Officers of AMAC, urging the Court to commit them to prisons,” it read.
It added that the application is listed for hearing on Tuesday, 9th April, 2019 before Honorable Justice O. C. Agbaza of the FCT High Court, sitting in Jabi, Abuja.
