#TrackNigeria:: No fewer than 51 capital projects have been executed at the cost of N2.66 billion by Kaduna State Government in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state in the last three and half years.
The state Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, Hassan Usman, made the disclosure at a town hall meeting in Makarfi on Tuesday, on the achievements of the administration.
NAN reports that the event was organized by the state Planing and Budget Commission in collaboration with Ministry for Local Government.
According to him, N442 million was spent on education including the rehabilitation of 15 classrooms, construction of 19 toilets as well as 19 solar powered boreholes.
The commissioner added that 10 primary health centres and 10 kilometers of road were constructed in the area during the period at over N2 billion while N204.9 million went into supply of equipment and furniture.
Usman thanked the people of Makarfi for their support to the administration and urged them to re-elect Gov. Nasiru El-Rufa’i in the forthcoming election.
Earlier, Chairman, Makarfi local government, Kabir Miyere said that the aim of the town hall meeting was explain to the people the major projects executed in the area by the state government and get feedback on its performance.
On his part, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi, District Head of Makarfi, expressed appreciation to the state government for giving them the opportunity to also give their voices on the way forward in the local government.
He said they would continue to give their support in the efforts to develop the state.
Abubakar Ahmad, leader of people living with disabilities in the area, thanked the state government for its support to them and urged it to do more especially in the area of education, skills acquisition and employment.
On her part, Hajiya Hadiza Nasiru from Rugan Yakubu, called on state government to establish a school in their community.
“We in Tashan Fulani Rugan Yakubu, even though we are not educated, but we want our children to be educated, we need government to intervene and provide a school in the area,” she said.
