Katsina State Government has urged APC supporters to shun hate speech during campaigns for the 2019 elections, to ensure peaceful coexistence in the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, made the call on Thursday in Katsina, during a media briefing on the flag-off of campaign for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Aminu Masari.
Inuwa is also the Chairman of the Campaign Council for the re-election of Gov. Masari and President Buhari in 2019.
“The government is peace loving, it obeys the rules of law. We urge our supporters to ensure good outing without hate speeches or any thing that will encourage violence during the events.
“We also appreciate the rights of the opponents to play the game in accordance with the rules of law,” he said.
He said that the campaign would be flagged off in Funtua on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018.
According to the SSG, some defectors to APC would be received at the event, and that some projects projects would also be inaugurated during the campaign.
He disclosed that the state government had executed at least a project in each of the 361 political wards across the 34 local government areas of the state. With reports by NAN
