Time Africa Magazine names Alia, Chinyere in 2024 honours list

Time Africa Magazine  has named Gov. Hyacinth Alia of Benue and General Overseer, Mega Power Ministries, Port Harcourt, Chibuzor Chinyere, in its 2024 edition of the Who’s Who Africa Award.

In a statement signed by its Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief, Dr Chidi-Peters Okorie, the magazine name Aila as the governor of the year while Chibuzor was honoured as African Philanthropist of the year.

According to him, the 2024 Who’s Who Africa Award ceremony will take place at Nigeria the National Merit Award House, Abuja, on November. 13.

d in the statement issued in Abuja on Friday that Alia selection came in recognition of his pioneering work in the Benue while Chinyere made the list on the strength of his humanitarian gestures.

Okorie said under the governor’s leadership, Benue State has made significant strides in economic revitalisation and social stability, earning widespread acclaim from political analysts and citizens alike.

He singled out security, infrastructural development, and human capital investment, where it said the governor has been lauded for his visionary approach to governance.

Okoro also said the governor has been focusing on improving the quality of life for the people of Benue State through education, healthcare, and rural development.

“Chinyere is being recognised for his outstanding contributions to humanitarian work and philanthropy across Nigeria and beyond.

“Through Omega Power Ministries, he has provided educational support, healthcare and poverty alleviation programmes to thousands of Nigerians, making a significant impact in the lives of underserved communities.

“His tireless work is empowering the less fortunate and advocating social justice has earned him the admiration of both his followers and the broader African community’’,

He said the award was also meant to inspire more efforts not only among the award winners but also other Nigerians.

“We want to honour individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, innovation, and contributions to national development.

“The selection process was thorough and based purely on merit and the awardees’ achievements are a testament to the growing potential of Nigeria’s leadership across sectors such as politics, education, innovation, business, and healthcare,” he said.

Other awardees include Mr Lawrence Ezeh as Man of the Year; Dr Godwin Umontuen as Who’s Who Africa Award for Education.

Others are Prince Innocent Anaele as the Entrepreneur of the Year; Prof. Josephine Anene-Okeakwa as the Personality of the Year; and Mr Ajah Ogbonna as the Local Government Chairman of the Year.

The trio of Prof. Abdullahi Musa, Prof. Onyemachi Ogbulu and Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh will be jointly awarded the Vice-Chancellor of the Year.

Emmanuel Adams-Ezurukam (Young Entrepreneur), Prof. Chijioke Nwaozuzu (Personality of the Year), Cynthia Ekeh (Young Actor of the Year), and Delta State Contributory Health Scheme (Best Health Insurance Provider) completed the award list. (NAN)
