The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Monday presented certificates of return to Sokoto State governor-elect, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal and his deputy, Ahmed Aliyu.
Also presented with the certificates were Senators-elect, governor Aliyu Wamakko, Sen. Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir and Ibrahim Danbaba Danbuwa, elected to represent Sokoto North, Sokoto East and Sokoto South, respectively.
Others were House of Representatives members-elect – Hassan Bala Abubakar (Sokoto North/South federal constituency), Musa S. Adar (Gada/Goronyo), Abdullahi Salame (Illela/Gwadabawa), Aliyu Shehu (Bodinga/Dange Shuni/Tureta) and Kabir Marafa Achida (Wurno/Rabah).
Aminu Shehu Shagari (Yobo/Shagari), Sa’adu Nabunkari (Binji/Silame), Abdullahi Wamakko (Wamakko/Kware), Aminu Sani Isa (Isa/Sabon Birni), Abdussamad Dasuki (Tambuwal/Kebbe) and Isa Salihu Bashir (Tangaza/Gudu).
Speaking on behalf of those who received the certificates shortly after the presentation, the governor-elect, Tambuwal commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) “for conducting credible, free and fair election.”
“The trust of the people of Sokoto state will not be misplaced. We shall ensure consolidation on the achievements of the present administration under governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,” he promised.
He also said that the APC administration in states and federal government would give attention to job creation, boost agriculture, solid mineral resources, healthcare delivery and rural development, among other areas.
