Members of Sokoto State House of Assembly (SOHA), on Wednesday passed a Vote of Confidence of governor Aliyu Wamakko, saying that they would not be induced with money to impeach the governor.
The House resolved through a motion moved under “Matters of Urgent Attention” moved by Hon. Ibrahim Arzika Sarki, member representing Sokoto North 1 and supported by the 27 of the 30 members of the House passed also hailed the governor for the chain of development programmes rolled out by Wamakko administration.
The motion followed a recent protest by some youths and perceived to be sponsored by a political party against the a request by the state government to the House of Assembly to approve for a loan to the tune of N3.6 billion.
Contributing to the motion one after the other, the members stressed the pertinence for the House to pass a Vote of Confidence on him as representatives of the people of the state.
The House wondered the same youths were not sponsored to stage a protest when the federal government sought National Assembly’s approval to obtain over $1 billion loan to fight Boko Haram.
It chided the attitude of some people “who do not think before they act.”
