Players’ Union Drags NPL To Court

    National Association of Nigerian Footballers on Thursday evening filed a suit before  an Abuja High Court against the Nigeria Premier League. The body is  praying the court to retrained NPL from flagging off the league billed to kick off on March,9.

    The Harrison Jalla led NANF in the suit prayed the court to take into account the interest of the harm that may come upon the league IF  the Interim Management Committee, IMC is allowed to commence the league as planned.

    According to court documents filed against NPL, NANF is urging the court to restrain the Nduka Irabor led IMC from going ahead with the March, 9 kick off date. The group asked the court to take into cognizance  fact that that the body is a stakeholder and deserves the listening ears of the court.

    The union challenged the change of nomenclature of the league from the Nigeria Premier League to Nigeria Professioanl Football League by the Interim Management Committee.

    The court is expected to fix a date for the commencement of  the matter .
