The Greater Together Campaign Organisation, GTCO, which is the campaign outfit of Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate has rejected and denounced the purported results as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The organisation, in rejecting the purported outcome of the April 11 governorship polls, said it cannot be part of any ‘victory’ secured on the graves of Rivers people.
“Because of the widespread violence, killings and intimidation of voters, elections could not hold in Rivers State. We cannot therefore accept the purported result which is an aggregate of fraud, deceit, violence and bloodshed.” The GTCO calls on INEC to take heed to the voice of millions of Rivers people and the numerous evidences provided by international observers and the media and cancel the fraud which its compromised REC Mrs. Gesila Khan called elections. “Rivers State and her people were maximally defrauded by a partial umpire being INEC, in collaboration with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and compromised security agents”.
In a statement on Monday, through Ibim Semenitari, director of communications, the campaign outfit described as “phantom” and a “sham” the process that produced the so-called results.
“We not only have condemned the entire process that produced the so-called results but make bold to denounce INEC for trifling with the destiny of Rivers people. Both the process and the results are combined phantom and sham and cannot stand.
“We are sure it won’t last and so, have no reason to join those who today promote this moral heresy. Rivers people should hold their peace because their Governor is coming”.
