The peoples Democratic Party, PDP  has fired a query at Ogun State Chieftain of the Party, Buruji Kashamu.

A source close to the national headquarters of the party said the order for the query was issued on Thursday.

“It is part of the on-going attempts to ensure discipline in the Peoples Democartic party, PDP”  the source said,

According to insiders, the Senator  Ahmed Makarfi -led  Caretaker Committee whom, it was learnt has been under intense pressure from various interest groups, has made it known to all party stakeholders that the right  steps  must be taken to reposition the party henceforth. He has refused to align with any side as he moves to reconcile differences, the source said.

“Makarfi  has been firm  and he seems to have a clear vision of  how to bring the PDP back to  its winning ways and the  party  will not let Kashamu’s act of indiscipline go unpunished,” Newsdiaryonline was told.

It was learnt that  Kashamu’s latest  attack on Makarfi  may have been a fallout of the Ogun State PDP chieftain’s frustration over his failure to get Makarfi to do his bidding after several attempts.

It could be recalled that Makarfi slammed Kashamu over frivolous court cases.Speaking at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, Makarfi said “It is very unfortunate that some members are still rushing to court over party matters without following due process. This must stop forthwith, members should embrace ‎peace, we are all members of the party and the interests of all party members will be protected

“From now on, going to court on party matters will be seriously resisted by the leadership. You must look inward for peaceful resolution of your grievances as contained in the party’s constitution.
“Anybody caught doing this or fueling unnecessary crisis in the party will be severely dealt with in line with the constitution of the party.

“Nobody is saying that you should not exercise your fundamental human rights, but in doing so, you should respect the constitution of the party.

“Henceforth, we will come hard on those members in line with our party’s constitution. Those concerned should retrace their steps because a tree cannot make a forest”.

Kashamu replied accusing Makarfi  of  taking sides  in Ogun state PDP  crisis. With Kashamu’s reply, the party has decided it will no longer allow such acts of impunity continue especially when viewed within the context of  his alleged attempts  to frustrate reconciliation in the state.

The Makarfi-led leadership has succeeded in reconciling  party members in Lagos,Oyo and Osun, among others. But  the case of Ogun has been lingering.
