Ogun Assembly: 7 bills sail through 1st reading

Seven bills on Tuesday sailed through first reading in the Ogun House of Assembly.

Mr Lanre Bisiriyu, the Clerk of the House, read the bills for the first time during plenary at the Assembly Complex in Abeokuta.

The bills include Ogun State Cash and Food Crops Marketing Board Law 2018 – A bill for a law to establish the Ogun State Cash and Food Crops Marketing Board and make provision for the purchase of produce for exports and for matters connected therewith.

The Public Private Partnership Law of Ogun State, 2018 – A bill for a law to provide for Public Private Partnership, establish the office of Public Private Partnership; enhance infrastructure and service development in Ogun State and for other connected purposes.

Tenancy Law of Ogun State, 2018 – A bill for a law to regulate rights and obligations under the tenancy agreement and the relationship between the landlords and the tenants including the procedure for the recovery of premises in Ogun State.

Ogun State Mortgages and Foreclosure Law, 2018 – A bill for a law to establish the Ogun State Mortgages and Foreclosure Authority, regulate mortgage creation, foreclosure and enforcement of mortgages in real property and connected purposes.

Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme Law, 2018 – A bill for a law to provide for the establishment of the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme Governing Board with the objectives of ensuring access to good health care for residents of Ogun state and protecting their families from hardship of huge medical bills.

Ogun State Centre for African Drum Festival Law, 2018 – A bill for a law to establish the Ogun State Centre for African Drum Festival as an annual international cultural event in the state and a board for the management of the affairs of the centre.

The seventh bill, Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board (Amendment) Law, 2018 – A bill for a law to amend the Ogun State Technical and Vocational Education Board and for connected purpose law. (NAN)
