The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) says the female national team will arrive Abuja on Saturday ahead of the Nigeria–Rwanda International Friendlies on Jan. 24.
Taiwo Orris, Secretary-General of federation said on Tuesday in Abuja that 15 girls had been invited for the bilateral series scheduled for Jan. 23 to Jan. 29.
Orris said that Jan. 23 would be arrival for the Rwanda team while the matches would run from Jan. 24 to Jan. 26.
He said Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 would be rest days for the teams while departure would be on Jan. 29.
“All matches will be played on the turf pitch, Package B” National Stadium, Abuja,’’ he said
Orris said that the Female National Team had been in camp since on the Jan. 3 in Kaduna State.
He said the team had been invited by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to participate in the 2019 ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The NCF Secretary-General said the qualifiers were slated for Harare, Zimbabwe from May 3 to May 13.
He listed other countries to participate in the qualifiers to include Rwanda, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and host Zimbabwe. (NAN)
