The Nigerian military has confirmed that Malamfatori which was reportedly “captured” by Chadian forces is within the Area of Operation (AOR) covered by the Multinational Joint Task Force (MJTF) of which Chad has always been a part.
The Defence Headquarters disclosed this on its official twitter handle ,adding that the Nigerian Airforce has also been conducting air mission in the area in the past two days.
The tweet concluded that the operation “is all part of the ongoing efforts against terrorism.”
The tweets read in full “RE: #Malamfatori is within the Area of Operation covered by the Multinational Joint Task Force of which #Chad has always been a part.
“The #Nigerian Airforce has also been conducting air mission there for 2 days now. It is all part of the ongoing efforts against terrorism.”
The BBC reported earlier Thursday that Chadian forces captured the Nigerian town of Malamfatori after chasing away Boko Haram terrorists.
