President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has sent a message of condolence to the Publisher of Leadership newspapers limited Mr. Sam Nda Isaiah over the demise of their patriarch Clement Ndanusa Isaiah in Niger State.
Similarly Senator Mark has commiserated with the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) Mr. Ima Niboro on the death of his mother deaconess Agnes Owoma Ukeseh in Delta state.
Senator Mark in the condolence messages extolled the virtues of the deceased whom he said nurtured great minds piloting the affairs of frontline media houses helping to propagate democracy and good governance in Nigeria.
Specifically, Senator Mark recalled his robust relationship with Pa Isaiah whom he met during his sojourn in Niger State as then Military Governor in the early 80s.
According to Mark:” Pa Isaiah was a hardworking, disciplined and a committed Nigerian who believed in the unity of the nation. He was such a bold and courageous man who stood for the truth no matter who was involved.
” I can say without fear of contradiction that Pa Isaiah left a legacy of friendship , integrity and unwavering commitment to the ideals of nation hood. We shall miss his wise counsel . We shall miss his humour.
He was however consoled that Pa Isaiah had good children like Nda Isaiah to carry on his good works for a better society even as he told the Government and people of Niger state to take solace in the fact that Pa Isaiah left his positive foot print on the sand of time.
On the late mother of Niboro , Senator Mark noted that mama was a respected community leader who worked for peace, unity , good neighborliness and indeed maintained harmonious relationship within and outside her community.
He told the government and people of Delta state especially the bereaved Niboro family to uphold the virtues of hard work, honesty and good neighborliness which Mama Ukeseh was known for.
