Gov.Simon Lalong of Plateau has extolled Dr. Isaac Wakili, the Agwom Izere of Izere Kingdom as a lover of peace, as the latter marks his 72nd birthday.
The governor felicitated the first class traditional ruler in a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Makut Macham, on Wednesday in Jos.
He eulogised the celebrant as a man of integrity, whose leadership continued to inspire his subjects in Jos East Local Government Area and bring them good fortunes.
Lalong said as an ordained Christian cleric, the royal father has maintained his standards of relying on God to lead his people, saying the act was the result of the good followership he enjoyed from his people.
He described Wakili as a worthy partner of the government, especially in peace building, reconciliation, and the fight against insecurity in the state.
Lalong acknowledged the contributions of the celebrant to the Plateau Traditional Council of Chiefs and Emirs as well as in the Northern Traditional Rulers Council.
He said the councils contributions have enhanced governance in the region.
He urged him to continue to motivate and mobilise his subjects to take advantage of opportunities in agriculture, education and the tourism sectors which, he pointed out, have great potential to positively impact on the people. (NAN)
