Arrangements have been concluded to conduct the polio immunization exercise in ten high risk local government areas in Kaduna state, from October 11th to 16th, 2014.
A joint statement issued by the Kaduna state Primary Health Care Agency and Journalists Against Polio, (JAP) Kaduna state chapter signed by Alhaji Hamza Ibrahim Ikara and Lawal A. Dogara respectively, named the high risk areas as Lere, Kubau, Ikara, Makarfi, Kudan, Giwa, Zaria, Sabon Gari, Igabi and Soba.
The statement appealed to parents in these areas to ensure that they give all the needed support and cooperation required by allowing their children between zero to five years of age to be immunized.
Also, the statement appealed to the traditional rulers and religious leaders to assist through educating their followers on the importance of the polio immunization with a view to achieving the desired result.
The statement commended the Development Partners, National Primary Care Agency and the Kaduna state government for their impressive efforts towards the eradication of polio in Kaduna state and the country in general.
