INEC in Kwara LGs distribute sensitive materials to wards

#TrackNigeria: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices in most of the local governments in Kwara, on Friday commenced the distribution of both sensitive and non sensitive materials to various wards.

The materials left early enough to avoid arriving at odd hours at the various wards.

The local government ares Asa, Ilorin South and Ilorin East, where election materials were distributed to each of the wards in the council to avoid a repeat of what happened in Feb 16.

INEC in the early hours of Feb. 16 postponed both the Presidential and National Assembly elections due to logistics challenges and what it described as a move to conduct free, fair and credible elections.

At ilorin West local government area, Ipata Oloje, INEC office commenced the exercise as early as 8:30 a.m.

The European Union Electoral Observation Mission was present to monitor the distribution of the election materials.

One of the observers who pleaded anonymity, said that their mission was to ensure the credibility of the electoral process, adding that the integrity of the election was of concern.

Stern looking armed police men were also on ground to escort the loaded materials to various destinations in the state.

There were heavy presence of security agents in Ilorin and some of the adjourning villages in the state. (NAN)
