Force Commander, MNJTF attends Land Forces Operations Seminar 2022 at AFCSC Nigeria

The Force Commander (FC), Multinational Joint Taskforce (MNJTF), Major General Abdul Khalifah Ibrahim was the Keynote Speaker and the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH) at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Department of Land Warfare Land Forces Operations Seminar 2022. The event took place at the famous General TY Danjuma Hall in the College in Jaji Kaduna State on Wednesday 26 January 2022. The seminar which was the first in the history of the Department, has the Theme Enhancing Operational Efficiency of the Nigerian Army in a Multi-Agency Environment. The FC delivered a lecture titled “Counter Insurgency Joint Operations: The Multinational Joint Taskforce in Perspective”.

In the lecture, the FC gave a synopsis and historical background of the MNJTF, major operations and other activities of the Force were also brought out. The challenges of joint and combined operations were equally highlighted among others. Speaking further, General Ibrahim urged the students of Senior Course 44 to always be hardworking, focused and professional in their work. He added that the contemporary security challenges Nigeria is facing will demand a lot from them as tactical level commanders, who would be required in the fore front in tackling these challenges. He implored them to be innovative and think outside the box in tackling the challenges.

The seminar was well attended, with the Commandant AFCSC, Air Vice Marshall OA Tuwase, who welcomed the Keynote Speaker and the SGOH. The Commandant urged the students to make good use of the lessons learnt from the lecture and from the discussants as a positive guide in their careers. Other dignitaries at the seminar, as special guests or discussants include the Corps Commander Artillery, Commander Armour Corps, FC Operation Whirl Stroke, Commandant Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Commander Sector 3 MNJTF, Deputy Commandant and staff of the College among a host of other senior officers. They gave firsthand accounts of their experiences in various theaters of operations and brought out lessons that would be beneficial to the students. The interactive session was very engaging as the students asked a variety of questions on the theme of the Seminar which were answered by the resource persons. The event ended on a hitch free note.
