The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Mr Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP winner of the gubernatorial election in Taraba State.
Ishaku polled 369,318 votes to defeat All Progressives Congress ,APC Candidate,Senator Aisha Alhassan who polled 275,984 votes.
This result dashed all hopes that Senator Alhassan might emerge as the first female governor in Nigeria.Our reporter however observed that the APC agent refused to sign the result sheet declared today.
The APC agent at the state collation centre in Jalingo ,Engineer Abubakar Umar said he will advise the APC candidate to head to the election tribunal..
Supplementary elections were held in 218 polling units across 10 local government areas on Saturday.Donga LG had the largest number with 106 polling units ,our correspondent said.
