Barely two weeks after more than 200 persons perished through fuel tanker explosions in Rivers State, another tragedy has occurred this morning with two separate explosions in Abuloma and Rumuokechi areas of the state.
The National Emergency Management Authority, NEMA confirmed the incident to the Nigeria Politics Online in a text message by the spokesman, Yushau Shuiabu.
A source in Rivers State told our correspondent that Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who is currently attending a retreat of the National Assembly committee on constitution amendment has already directed that all necessary helps should be deployed to ensure the fire is curtailed.
Attempts to speak with Amaechi’s spokesman, David Iyofor,(did not) yield result as his mobile number appeared switched off.
