Cleric cautions Muslims faithful against unholy acts ahead of Ramadan

The Chief Imam of Nasarawa Eggon Central Mosque in Nasarawa state, Alhaji Ibrahim Yusuf, has advised Muslims faithful to adhere strictly to the tenants of Islam ahead of the forthcoming Ramadan fast.

Yusuf made the call on Tuesday in Nassarawa Eggon at a Ramadan lecture organised by states’s chapter of Eggon Muslims Forum.

The cleric said if Muslims adhere strictly to the tenets of Islam, it would go along way in promoting peace in the country.

He also called on wealthy individuals to assist the poor during and after the fasting in order to improve on their standard of living.

Yusuf further called on Nigerians to embrace peace and tolerate irrespective of their religious affiliation.

The cleric added that no society can achieve meaningful progress without peace, hence the need for Nigerians to embrace peace and unity.

He commended the forum for organising the lecture and prayed God to bless them.

Also speaking, the Pioneer Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Zakari Idde called on Muslims and other Nigerians to fear God during and after the Ramadan.

He called on the people of the area to live in peace with one another irrespective of different religious affiliations.

Earlier, Alhaji Abubakar Isah, the Chairman of Eggon Muslims Forum explained that the lecture was organised to educate Muslims on what is expected of them during the holy month of Ramadan.

He said the forum is committed to ensuring that Muslims are well informed on issues that affect their religion.(NAN)
